Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite

Friday 19 December 2008 @ 10:35 am

A classic accommodation situated amidst the forest is the perfect highlight for a Yosemite travel.

The Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite serves as an active part of the scenic Yosemite backdrop ever since 1921. It did not start out as a place to house tourists; instead, it was initially built as a means to assist in the construction of the O’Shaunessey Dam. It also served as a restaurant, a post office, and a store. Even in the early years of the Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite, people gather for dances, ice cream, or simply meet at the watering hole. Now, it is still host to several people; international, guests, rock climbing enthusiasts, park rangers, and locals.

There are four cabin types in the Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite. While each is uniquely different from the other, all of them provide guests with a relaxing and casual atmosphere. The Traditional Cabins can house two-three individuals and are a good choice for couples or those who are traveling alone. The original traditional cabins have all been renovated in January 2006 and provide covered front porches and the least expensive rates. The Evergreen Lodge in Yosemite built new traditional cabins in 2004 which are popular for their private decks fronting nature.

Friday 19 December 2008 @ 10:33 am

When most people think of a wedding, the things that
they think about are the bride and groom, of course,
the wedding party, the flowers and the wedding
reception.

But there is a lot more to a wedding than that, and
this is how others can be involved if the wedding
party has been filled.

Guest Book Attendant

- This is one of the jobs that can be offered to a
friend who wasn’t included in the wedding party but
still wants to help. This person will encourage the
guests to sign the book and leave a message for the
couple if they wish. It may seem like a small job, but
it’s important.

El Reno Field Trip

Thursday 18 December 2008 @ 11:49 am

El Reno is situated at the intersection of two historic highways, the Chisholm Trail or Highway 81 and the nostalgic Route 66, in the center of the Canadian River Valley.  Although El Reno was not chartered until 1889, the beginning of the place and its surrounding area was much earlier. El Reno boasts of rich historic structure, and in the city limits can be found eleven properties and two areas listed on the National Register of Historic Places, on top of an incredible inventory of historic homes.

For those planning an El Reno field trip, there are some great attractions that features both historic and educational places to see and learn. Starting off with the El Reno Heritage Mural that is located at the corner of Woodstone and Bickford streets in El Reno, the mural commemorates the rich legacy of El Reno, Canadian County and Western Oklahoma.  The mural is one-hundred-eight feet and is fifteen feet above the ground; it was specially made in April of 1980 by Ok Federal Savings and Loan Association and was painted by Charles Beecham, an El Reno artist.  On the 11th of October 1980, the painting was completed.  Other El Reno field trip places to see include:

Wedding Bands: Go for Platinum!

Wednesday 17 December 2008 @ 11:04 am

Platinum has long been known as a durable type of metal.  However, unlike gold and silver, platinum is an extremely rare luster metal that can only be found in certain areas in the world.   It is known for being long lasting, especially those that are designed with the purest form, and it is for this reason basically that platinum is now often valued for wedding bands.

Platinum wedding bands are by far the most popular and most valued type of wedding rings in today’s fast-paced world.   They are valued that much because of the high quality they offer, as well as for a number of designs that can be made with the pieces.  You can find the platinum bands in styles of Greek Key, Celtic Knot, Etruscan, and engraved; four of the most common kinds.  They may vary in the number of carats though, then making the task of choosing the right platinum wedding bands an important move to take.

Copenhagen Airport

Wednesday 17 December 2008 @ 10:59 am

Founded in the year 1925 and originally named Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen Airport is the main airport of Scandinavia that serves Denmark Copenhagen, and Malmö Sweden. The airport is situated eight kilometers south of the center of Copenhagen city on Amager Island, and lies chiefly in Tarnby city, and a small part in the adjoining Dragor city.  Copenhagen Airport was among the world’s earliest civil airports; where its first phase was distinguished by a revolutionary spirit at a time when flying was only for the fortunate few.

Today, the airport is one of the two major hubs for Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), serving about fifty-thousand passengers every day.  It is also one of the hubs for Star Alliance, a system of sixteen international airlines flying to a sum of seven-hundred-ninety-five airports in one-hundred-thirty-nine countries. And is also the hub for DHL in Scandinavia. In 2005, it became the busiest airport in Nordic countries, with 19.98 million travelers passing through its facility, and it is expected to hold 21.5 million travelers in 2006.

London

Tuesday 16 December 2008 @ 11:02 am

Do you know that despite the 1666 Great London Fire, London is considered as among the world’s premier financial and business centers? It wouldn’t come as a surprise that its underground railway dating as far back as 1863 is the world’s oldest?

Aside from being England’s and the U.K.’s capital city, London is also the largest and the most populated among all the cities of the European Union. Its population is highly multi-ethnic, composed of a wide variety of nationalities, religions, and cultures that use more than 300 various languages.

Greater London encompasses an area equivalent to 607 square miles or 1572 square kilometers. Its metropolitan area alone has around 7.4 million residents, who call themselves “Londoners”. When locals speak about “the city”, they often refer to the ancient City of London, otherwise called the “square mile”, which has now been converted into a financial neighborhood, with barely its share of overnight inhabitants.
